LEARN THE ART AND SKILL OF TEACHING BEAUTIFUL REJUVENATING RESTORATIVE YOGA CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS AS WELL AS THE IMMENSELY POWERFUL MEDITATION TECHNIQUE OF YOGA NIDRA

In this 50-hour accredited Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra training with Yoga Australia we focus on learning the art of relaxation, and using supported postures that facilitate the passive release of tension stored in the body, and by what means to elicit the Relaxation Response.

This training provides an immersive embodied learning experience that enables all yoga practitioners to have a first-hand proficiency and adept understanding of psychosomatic medicine and the healing process. You can expect a well-rounded and robust exploration of Restorative Yoga Postures and their variations, alternatives, contra-indications, anatomical and physiological effects and benefits, lingual enrichment, cues and considerations, correct prop set-up, alignment, adaptations, student differentiation, timings and transitions, touch adjustments, methodology of pranayama and the physiology of relaxation. The training is 4 days separated into 2 weekends (Sat/Sun).

“Receive the breath, receive the weight of the body, receive the moment. Give up ambition, give up movement, give up fear…and rest.” Judith Hanson Lasater

What you will learn on

Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra

To ‘rest’, to ‘relax’ and to ‘restore’ is a natural vital process in our lives. Rest supports optimal physiological functioning and promotes healing and growth. During rest, one’s autonomic nervous system switches from sympathetic-dominance to parasympathetic-dominance, regeneration, and restoration is accelerated. Research has shown that relaxation and rest are essential to every one of all ages and cultures, size and shape. Whether your intention is to deepen personal understanding of restorative practices, or to offer it to family/friends, or to teach and share this healing practice, there will be comprehensive coverage of both the theoretical and practical application of Restorative Yoga in this module.

I first learned Yoga Nidra in my Satyananda Yoga Teacher training course with Muktanand Meanjin (1997); it was actually part of our assessment back then. I fell in love with Yoga Nidra, this ancient practice for the mind and body that is as powerful as it is subtle, especially having experienced the many benefits for my students and myself.

My aim is to provide you with the skills needed in creating an atmosphere that encourages students to let go of mental stress and fill you with a love for teaching this advanced practice to heal, restore, and rejuvenate.
