Discover the deep healing power of Yin Yoga.
This 4-day course registered with Yoga Australia is designed to provide a foundation for teaching Yin Yoga skillfully, from the heart with compassion and awareness.
The course can be attended as a stand-alone accredited course or as an optional module on our 150-hour Post Graduate Course. Also this training is for those who want to deepen their practice and their knowledge without wanting to teach yoga.
In Module One we will delve into the anatomy, philosophy and teaching methodologies of Yin Yoga. We’ll break down the movements that shape each posture, including safety and modifications of the archetypal poses, learn how to work with bodyweight and gravity to enter and exit postures more gracefully, and discover how the creative uses of props can inspire your students to find the variations and adaptations that are right for them.
You’ll develop a deeper insight into the feelings, sensations and movement barriers that may arise for your students, understand how these limitations can be worked through, and ultimately cultivate the skill of guiding students into their own unique exploration of each pose as it unfolds so they can realise their full movement potential.
In Module 2, you will learn how to optimise the effectiveness of Yin poses and teaching methodologies through progressive sequencing and understanding the Anatomy Trains of Tom Myers and the Meridians of Traditional Chinese Medicine. These maps describe how energy travels through your body and how you can work with joints and connective tissues to restore the flow of energy.
Understand the fundamentals of a mindfulness meditation practice, and we look at ways to integrate mindfulness practice seamlessly into yin yoga classes.

This training is delivered over two weekends spaced one month apart.
