Hi, I’m Miriam.
Thanks for being here.
I teach both seasoned yogis and those new to the practice about the benefits of incorporating yoga and meditation into their daily lives.
I also love teaching pregnancy yoga. I’m passionate about helping expecting mothers connect to the life growing within, preparing them with tools for birth, and guiding them to develop a deeper understanding of themselves at this enormous time of change.
Yoga is not one thing to everyone – it’s different things to millions of different people. We come to it for different reasons and we stay because of the profound impact is has on our minds and bodies. My story is no different.
I first came to yoga suffering bad sciatica pain. I could hardly stand up or sit comfortably. This was a result of bad posture and scoliosis developed during my younger years. I attended my first yoga class in 1991, and noticed how much better my body started to feel.
Over time, my posture improved and the pain disappeared. With regular practice, I discovered yoga’s benefits in both body and mind, planting a seed that has never stopped growing.
Having studied various disciplines of yoga, I now teach a ‘flow’ style of yoga. You can get acquainted with this style in one of my free yoga videos over on my YouTube channel.
I bring together physical yoga asana practice with stimulating non-dogmatic philosophy to create a conscious experience of presence and living wisdom in the body and in the heart.
My classes are informative and fun and are influenced by my belief in practising with awareness and intention, developing breath awareness, finding meditative peace, learning correct postural alignment, and celebrating the joy that is yoga!
I’m an experienced Yoga Teacher ERYT® 500, Yoga Teacher Trainer (RYS® 500 + YACEP®), Yoga Australia Senior Registered Teacher, mentor and doula, and have been blessed to have studied with many wonderful teachers to guide my path since 1996.
I’m also an experienced meditation teacher, having studied with Swami Muktananda in the Satyananda tradition since 1998. I also hold an advanced certificate in Meditation from ACHS.

Although now Brisbane-based, I’ve taught yoga and meditation in Bali, Singapore and in my native country, the Netherlands. Although I still speak fluent Dutch, I find it easier to teach in English!
