Postnatal Support Doula
Having a new baby is exciting but it’s also a big transition. You’re recovering from pregnancy and birth, while coping with the demands a newborn brings. Support after birth is essential to your physical and emotional well-being.
I love supporting families postnatally. Being welcomed into a family's journey and guiding them as they navigate the 'fourth trimester' is truly a joy and a privilege. The nature of this work varies from family to family; it's personal and unique because each family's situation is different.
Postnatal support might include:
Caring for baby so you can get some sleep, rest or have a shower
Newborn care, assisting with bathing, feeding time and changing nappies etc
Learning how to understand baby's cues
Assist with debriefing your birth story and providing emotional support as needed
Assistance with bonding with your newborn, which includes partners
Breastfeeding support
Supporting you to trust your intuition
Support with discovering your own parenting philosophy
Provide a listening ear and giving reassurance
Sibling support, ways to include siblings/help them transition
Prepare basic nutritious food for the family
Teach baby massage
Assist with breastfeeding education
Home yoga practice for afterbirth care
Assist with baby settling education & support
Light domestic tasks
Phone and email support during our time together
A doula's support is unique postnatally - my visits are different from those of friends/family, you don't have to make an effort when I visit - I am there for you! And when I leave I'd like you to be feeling rested, cared for and more confident.

Birth Preparation | A Private Antenatal Workshop
This 3-hour workshop is a unique and comprehensive approach to childbirth preparation that addresses the emotional and spiritual aspects of giving birth. It supports any birthing option parents may choose and provides a balance of practical information with creative, hands-on exercises that will INFORM and INSPIRE you as you prepare for the birth of your child.
This workshop will help couples connect deeply with themselves and their baby, during such a significant and intense time. The birthing partner will learn how to best support the birthing woman, using their own body, and other props often helpful in childbirth.
Yoga poses, partnering poses, massage techniques, rebozo techniques, how to use breath and alignment to relieve aches and discomfort and a sweet way to connect with your partner, spouse, sister, mother, or friend.
This private workshop is for parents wanting to benefit from one-on-one coaching in a relaxed setting either in the privacy of their own home or another location and cover whatever is important to you so that you’ll feel prepared, confident and empowered as you approach your birth.
Investment - $350 + GST
Participation is best when you are between 6-8 months pregnant.
